Rob Alicea is a filmmaker and actor from Queens, NY. Best known for creating and starring in comedy series Adulthood (2017 HBO New York Latino Film Festival), it was his genre turn with supernatural thriller The Hat Man that established Rob as a terrifying new voice in horror. In December 2024, Rob made his long-awaited feature directorial debut with A.I. Thriller Serena.

As Co-Founder of both Leaving Normal Productions and non-profit organization Latinos In Film + Entertainment (L.I.F.E.), Rob is committed to telling bold stories that amplify fresh perspectives and diverse voices in film and television.

Rob Alicea is a writer/director whose recent sci-fi thriller SERENA premiered at Cinequest and is already being hailed as “one of the best modern ‘sinister AI’ films” and “the perfect thriller for the terminally online."

As Co-Founder of production company Leaving Normal and non-profit organization Latinos In Film + Entertainment (L.I.F.E.), Rob is committed to telling bold stories that amplify fresh perspectives and diverse voices in film and television.

On the producing side, Rob recently wrapped principal photography on OPERATION FASTLINK, a coming-of-age mob thriller starring Roman Griffin-Davis and Bill Camp, and is currently working on the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer documentary, announced via Fangoria.

As a writer, Rob has been commissioned by Luz Films (Grand Jury Prize winners for IN THE SUMMERS) to pen the supernatural thriller JUST SMILE, and his spec REACH FOR THE SKY was acquired by Motion Picture Corporation of America, with Brad Krevoy producing.
