ABOUT

Rob Alicea is a Latino filmmaker whose award-winning career has spanned over two decades. In 2026, Rob became the first ever recipient of the prestigious Roger Corman Award for Best Horror Feature at the Raindance Film Festival.

 

Under his Leaving Normal banner, Rob recently wrapped principal photography on OPERATION FASTLINK, a coming-of-age mob thriller starring Roman Griffin-Davis and Bill Camp, and is currently developing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer documentary, announced by Fangoria.

 

His writing credits include a commission from Luz Films (In the Summers, Grand Jury Prize winner) for the supernatural thriller JUST SMILE. His spec REACH FOR THE SKY was acquired by Motion Picture Corporation of America, with Brad Krevoy producing.

In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Rob serves as Co-Founder of Latinos In Film + Entertainment (L.I.F.E.), a non-profit organization that champions bold storytelling from underrepresented voices in film and television.
